Subject:         Gafney Expansion – Community Meeting

Wakefield – The Board of Directors and Staff of the Gafney Library in Sanbornville, NH will hold an informational meeting on October 24 from 6:00-7:30 PM at the library to discuss plans to increase the size of the 91 year old building.  All who are interested in learning about the expansion are encouraged to attend.

Built in 1925 to meet the needs of the 1700 residents of Wakefield and Brookfield, the library now serves a population of over 7000 people within the same footprint.   A presentation will address critical space needs as well as a review of the challenges that the Gafney, like libraries across the country, faces to adapt to the changing demands for technology, programs and services in the 21st century.  A question and answer session will follow.

A program for children will be held in the Youth Library during the meeting.

For more information call the library at 522-3401 during open hours of Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday 1:00pm to 7:00pm and Friday and Saturday 9:00am to 12:30pm.
